Governor Reappoints Walliser, Welsh To DEP Citizens Advisory Council

On Monday, Gov. Corbett reappointed John Walliser, Vice President for Legal and Governmental Affairs with the PA Environmental Council and Donald Welsh, former EPA Region III Administrator to the DEP Citizens Advisory Council.
John Walliser guides legal and policy efforts for PEC. In addition, he assists in program development and management in PEC’s Western Regional Office. He has represented PEC in numerous stakeholder and partnership efforts, and serves on the Board of several other conservation and recreation initiatives.
Walliser received both his J.D. and B.A. from the University of Pittsburgh, and has been published on the subjects of conservation easements and environmental law.
Donald S. Welsh served for eight years as the Regional Administrator for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Philadelphia. In that role, he led the environmental protection efforts for six states in the mid-Atlantic region.
Prior to this position he served as the Deputy Secretary for State/Federal Relations for the Department of Environmental Protection and as the Chief of Government Affairs for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
He started his career working for Congressman Bud Shuster in the U.S. House of Representatives as a Chief Legislative Assistant.
He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
